Hey, i am new here, lifelong mopar enthusiast, but i am having some troubles. I have a 2017 1500 with 5.7 hemi, 6spd auto. Recently (192,000km) i have experienced odd troubles, which dealer says i need a quoted $25000 transmission replacement. My objection to this (besides ridiculous quote) is the nature of the issue. Started initially with truck putting itself into “neutral” while driving…. gearshift remains in drive but no gear, can shift through gears once stopped and nothing at all, restart engine and drove perfectly. Took to dealer, they test drove it and it “broke down” on them. They gave me quote on transmission replacement. Now from a dead stop when you put into drive or reverse, the engine stalls… no noises at all, just stalls. The thing is, with a rolling start, the truck still drives (and shifts) flawlessly. I asked the dealer to flash the computer as i had been told this was a common problem and a simple fix. My dealer has zero credibility and next closest dealer is 3 hours away. Anyone else experience this issue?
