When I am stopped and want to turn right or left and start to move I have a “grind” like noise. Kind of feels like 4x4 is engaged and feels like it slips. Anyone else have this issue.

There are a few reports of stiction in the rear LSD. I’ve experienced it a few times myself. Shouldn’t be happening with a helical LSD like the PW, but for some it is.

IIRC some people have tried friction modifier, which shouldn’t be used with helical normally. I’m not sure about the results.

Mine it’s only occasional a bit of shudder felt and I’m not too concerned.

Power Wagon doesn't have a limited slip diff. Its equipped with lockers. Very different animal.

OP, have you checked the brakes or backing plates behind the rotors?

I suggest you consult your source of information. PW uses a diff with both a helical LSD plus an Elocker in the same carrier.

AKA the AAM TracRite GTL.

I had a 2012 PW did the same thing, but that started at 130k miles. I did a lot to try to correct, axle fluid change, replaced lockers, wheel bearings. I gave up and bought a new truck. Well thus made it to 30k.

Well check you out Mr. Smarty McSmart pants. I learned something today. Although I suggest you consult your "not so grumpy sounding" response list next time. Lol. :party36:

@smithwessn you didn’t even see my first draft, I always delete those and run it through the nice guy filter first. LOL.

It’s all good.

PS we PW guys have to tout our superiority when the rare opportunity presents. Even the Jeep Rubicon doesn’t get the GTL. I don’t know if AAM even has any customers besides Ram buying that diff. < humor

Could it be your CV joints?

I'm not super familiar with the Power Wagons, but I am envious.

I would certainly venture to say that Travelin Ram is correct regarding the LSD.

Is she still under warranty? If so let the dealer worry about tracking down the cause.

That is correct. Both front and rear axles are a mechanical limited slip differential with an e-locker.
