hi, I have a 2023 Ram 2500 power wagon hemi 6.4 and I started to hear a little rattle at low RPM during the gear changes. During the muffler delete process I notice some rattling from the cat, it feels something is loose inside the cat and when I tap it the sound seems to be same I hear from the cabin. My truck has 40k miles only, any idea if this is know issue for hemi 6.4 cat? loose or break internal components causing noise when the exhaust vibrates?

Do a search in the forum using key search terms to see if it is a known issue. I haven't heard a specific issue for 6.4s ( I have one). Could be heat shield, or broken part inside. Seems premature for your 2023 although you have modified your exhaust system so who knows? Normally you would be under warranty as that part is covered for 8 years, however a muffler delete (did you really remove the muffler?) will most likely void that warranty and result in a very expensive fix if internal parts are broken.

Good luck

On my 2020 there is a tie between the two exhaust pipes in front of the cats and it was cracked. I welded it up and it hasn’t rattled since.

I’m not taking a picture of the fix as it’s hard to get in there to weld it and it’s not internet worthy.

Yes, I replaced the muffler with a straight pipe but it is a reversible change. I noticed the rattle before this change.
I also have a maintenance insurance apart from the factory warranty, I believe I can use it in case of any parts replacement is needed

Just checked my truck, you nailed it!!
I have the same crack in the tie between the two pipes. I’ll find a good welder shop and have it fixed.
Thanks!!
