2018 Ram 1500 (used transmission-valve body- TCM)

As everyone knows there are major backorders on MOPAR parts, and I desperately need a valve body/TCM. I was thinking that I could buy a used transmission for the valve body. The prices appear to be a lot less than a new valve body as well. Has anyone ever swapped out a valve body from a used transmission? Run into any issues? Is it doable?

If you purchased a used VB I would take it to a trans shop and have them rebuild it with a quality shift kit before I installed it...

Why nor just buy the upgrade kit? Is the valve body warped or something?

The TCM, which is part of the valve body has failed. Since the TCM cannot be purchased separately, I have to replace the whole valve body assembly.
