My newly purchased 2018 RAM Tradesman Key fob covers work except that the Panic Button is a bit too high. When I insert the key the Panic Alarm goes off. The top of the original key fob cover is flush with the top key fob housing. Is there any simple way to correct this? The purpose of changing the cover is to avoid trying to glue the metal discs back on to the original cover.

I guess that I could just tear out the metal disc form the panic button?

Thanks in Advance.

Take the key apart and put some masking tape over the panic contact, then put it back together, or scrape the contact off the bottom on the panic button.

I had this same problem with one of my aftermarket keys. I just took it apart and removed the panic button striker. I can't use the panic button anymore but I have never used one in my life so it doesn't concern me.

I just removed the disc on the panic button and it seems to work OK. A little tight when inserted and removed, but so far it is OK. Thanks.

I had this same problem when I had my power wagon. Once I would insert key into ignition it would set the panic off. Quite annoying and would happen at the least opportune time. Early mornings.
I was able to disable that feature using OBD JScan. I know not everybody has that ability but wanted to throw that out there. I’m sure alpha OBD would be able to do the same since it is a little more advanced into programming.
