Good Day--new member but have been reading for some time. This forum steered me to a RAM purchase.

Recently purchased a 2019 Classic tradesman and want to swap the cubby with a used upper glove box. Found one from a 2013 Ram but the seller states it will not fit the 2019? Not sure that I agree with that but did wish to consult with the experts here.

Thanks in advance

Very odd. I just did a quick search and most listings do say 2013-2018. I have a 2019 Classic and interior looks exactly the same as the 2015 I used to own.

Based on this the Upper Glove Box Kit will fit 1500 DS (Classic) from 2013-2019.

Thanks. The price there is just slightly higher than the used one! Appreciate your assistance and quick response

2013+ should fit from the write-ups and posts I've seen. The seller is probably thinking your 2019 is the new style Ram?

2013+ trucks all the way up to the Classic trucks have the exact same interiors. No changes. Except the radio.

That is what I found when I researched for my 2018 Tradesman last fall, the cubby is the same for 2013-18 and then 19, 20 and 21 classic, should also be the same for 19 and 20 but not 21 HD from what I read.

OK.

e916573d9dd93c33e6e3056fb024da67.jpgEasy job; you need a bin, a door, a striker, some screws and (if you want a light) the courtesy lamp assembly:

These were the part numbers... and I have a 2020 1500 Classic Tradesman.

Whole job took maybe 30 minutes.
This is way more useful than that cubby in the dash.

While I was down there taking stuff apart I also took the door off the lower glove box and changed out the latch to include a lock; I keyed it to the removable ignition key in my fob

As far as I know the retrofit cubby conversion does not have an option for a lockable upper glove box.

I find telling people I have a 2018 saves a lot of hassle.

That being said a local wrecker and a local parts guy have mentioned some brackets and wiring commonly found in the 13-18 trucks are missing from the classics since there are no premium trim options that need them.

Dang it...now I have to do this. Weird that Ram doesn't make this a standard feature.
