Tell us more about it ? Only on startup, how long.

Try it yourself to confirm what is going on.

Is it a ticking or a puffing? It’s common for the headers to crack… real common

My guess, single side, cold start, it would most likely be a exhaust manifold gasket. It should get somewhat quieter when hot.

I had it too. Bolts on exhaust manifold failed. Common issue unfortunately.

If the ticking seems to stop after a minute or so after the engine warms up, I'd say likely a cracked exhaust manifold bolt, common enough to be coined the common term "Hemi Tick". Only Ram I've owned that has not ended up with a cracked manifold was one I only drove 30k miles. My 08 cracked around 70k miles, and my 2020 cracked around 28k miles and was replaced under warranty. Ram made stronger bolts on the Gen 5s, which just led to the entire manifold usually cracking instead.

The tick is common and usually caused by one of two things but we definitely need more information. (1) The exhaust manifolds cracking and or bolts breaking, or (2) a lifter tick which is more serious of a problem and usually wipes out the camshaft too

My 2019 has the "Tick" - passenger side. Several buddies are now seeing the same. I guess the "Stronger Bolts" for the 5th gen, mean we see the failure later. Mine developed around 65K miles. Been waiting for the parts since July.
