I don’t want to pay 2600 for a dashboard replacement. This is a known crappy defect. Anyone know if dodeg is correcting this issue on 5th gen’s or does anyone have suggestions?

Subject: Request for Warranty Consideration – Dashboard Defect on 2019, Dodge Ram 1500 Limited Edition

Dear Chrysler/Dodge Ram Customer Care,

There are hundreds of people complaining about this same issue. I am writing to formally request that Chrysler/Dodge review and honor the warranty on my vehicle’s dashboard, which has now failed for the third time!

I purchased a 2019, Dodge Ram 1500 Limited, your top-of-the-line model, and have always taken exceptional care of it. The dashboard was first replaced on February 28, 2022, due to bubbling and adhesive separation — an issue that, I have since learned, is well-known with this model. Unfortunately, the same problem occurred again, and the dashboard had to be replaced a second time on January 8, 2024.

Now, less than two years later, the same issue has returned. The dashboard is once again bubbling and separating, clearly indicating a defect in materials. When I contacted the dealership, I was told that Chrysler/Dodge is aware of this recurring issue but is not covering it under warranty because the coverage period began with the first replacement, not the second. Respectfully, this makes little sense — a replacement part should carry its own warranty period, particularly when it fails for the same reason.

My vehicle has only 20,000 miles and has been meticulously maintained. I always use a sunshade to protect the interior, yet this problem persists. The fact that a premium model such as the Limited is experiencing this repeated defect is both disappointing and frustrating. Recently, a friend riding in the passenger seat even commented on how beautiful the truck is — right before pointing out the bubbling dashboard. It’s embarrassing to have such an issue in an otherwise pristine vehicle.

I love my truck and take pride in owning it, but this is not a cosmetic issue — it’s a clear failure of manufacturer adhesive materials and workmanship. I respectfully request that Chrysler/Dodge stand behind its product and goodwill this repair or replacement under warranty. I have been a loyal customer and would greatly appreciate a fair resolution.

Please let me know how I can proceed to have this issue properly addressed.

Sincerely,
Paula de Govia

It’s got a Hemi in it
That’s unfortunate about your dash, but I don’t believe you’re going to get a response here from anyone in Stellantis that matters.
