Traded in my 2010 RAM Lonestar for a 2022 Longhorn Limited with the 12.4" screen. I frequently get a message on the Uconnect screen "Power Surge on USB HUB Detected". I have NOTHING plugged into any of the USB Ports. The UCONNECT screen is unresponsive until I turn the radio tuning knob to clear the message. The message repeats and pops back up quickly. This makes using NAV maps basically impossible. I have tried disconnecting the 12V vehicle battery for a few minutes. I have tried holding both of the UCONNECT buttons down to reset. Nothing has worked so far.

Ideas?

Sounds like you may a have defective media hub. I would try disconnecting the media hub from the radio, and see if the issue goes away. it will require for you to remove the screen. the radio module is behind the 12" display. you have to remove 2 crews from the top and pop the whole bezel out. some videos in Youtube can help you. I am attaching a picture of the radio module, and I circled the USB hub connection. be careful removing it, as it has a locking tab. I hope this help identify the issue.

If the problem component is likely the USB media hub, why not disconnect the media hub on the console end at the hub itself?

There are YouTube videos covering this for several different vintages of Ram trucks.

The console end is easy to R&R, and chances are that the hub has the fault anyway. I've removed the entire console box on my Warlock for a project before.

I will admit that I prefer to avoid disassembling the dash if there's any another solution.

I would test the battery with a toaster style tester .
Just to make sure the battery is solid .

Just to confirm , that a possible 5 yr old battery is not a contributing factor .

A battery load test is never a bad idea with our electronics-loaded trucks, but usually a failing battery presents as poor starting, a DTC storm, or multiple comm errors from several modules.

Since none of those conditions have been described, I would think the battery condition is adequate.

Open fuse box in engine compartment (TIPM), gently seat all fuses and relays. You will likely find over half are not fully seated. This has cured MANY< MANY gremlins like you describe. May not fix it but easy to do and free, and better to have all seated anyhow.

Thanks to the group for several good ideas. We are driving back to Maryland from SW Florida early tomorrow. When we get home, I will test the battery (I have a load tester). The truck starts fine with no straining. Also, the suggestion to re-seat the fuses is an excellent idea. I will get that done tomorrow night at our first stop. Luckily I have a warranty plan if something needs to be replaced.
