On my 2019 Laramie Longhorn 5th Gen with Uconnect 12" Harmon Kardon system, I spilled a few drops of coffee onto a USB port. Didn't think much of it until the next day, and now getting error messages. I want to replace that media hub shown in pic below. Trying to find the part is a challenge. I've been looking in a couple of Mopar sites, but they seem to be showing only the hubs for the rear seat passengers.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Here's a pic of my setup:

If the part is OEM, did you contact the dealership for the model number.
I assume you are going to r&r that piece, take it out and look a model number.
Maybe clean the surface?

chances are that a bit of Electrical Contact Cleaner would fix it

At the auto parts store, look for the shelf with

CRC QD Electrical Contact Cleaner on it, there with be other brands, like LPS
it will not go to waste, especially where it is wet & cold.
Great to spray inside of the Trailers Electrical Connection

I spilled coffee in a USB/USBC hub, which rendered both ports lifeless. I pulled it out and flushed it with alcohol. Works like a champ.

Yeah, thanks guys. I sprayed tiny shots of WD-40 in there on two different occasions, with gentle compressed air, and that worked for a few days each time. It's the bottom right USB receptacle, so I know exactly where the issue is. I was looking online for some sort of "USB Cleaning Tool" but didn't see much other than small swabs.

I watched a YouTube vid about replacing the media hub, and it's not a bad job at all, so I think I'm just gonna buy the part and replace.

@Dredger - thanks for finding that link. I will await a reply from Benny...

Damn, I'm impressed. I actually did go to that site, but I couldn't find it at all. That does look like the one I need and hopefully Benny @AllMoparParts.com can chime in and confirm that's the correct part.

Benny is that the correct part for me?? Many thanks, Dave F.

Hi,
Can you send me your VIN please, I see 2 options that look identical

Thanks,
- Benny

If you get a new one , that's great, but if coffee has dried out in there , WD40 may not clean it .
I would pull it out, wash in hot water, soap, rinse, blow dry, and let sit blow it out again till you are sure its dry, it should work fine, its water shorting out stuff that hurts, water will not hurt if no power while wet, unless you get rust, and I don't think that would be a problem with these.
Contact / control cleaner would help as well. use to use lots of it back in the days when everything used rotatory controls, and TV channel tuners

Yeah, I agree. I ordered the new one already. But a few days ago, I ran into this product (pic below) that was on my garage shelf. I forgot I had it. I put a couple of short spritzes into that USB port, waited overnight, then tried it, and I've had zero issues since spraying the 'Deoxit' in there...... :waytogo:

Well, my DeoxIT fix lasted almost two weeks, then that error message came back (pic below). It was most annoying, as it was on the screen all the time. No matter what app you selected, that error message was parked right there at the top, I couldn't clear the message for more than a few seconds, it would pop right back up there.

So I ended up installing the new hub from Benny today. I took the whole console right out of the vehicle. It wasn't a bad job at all. Now that big screen works just fine.... :waytogo:

And NO, I wasn't listening to Taylor Swift, haha
