2022 Ram 2500 transmission service?

Hey fellas,

I’ve done routine Transmission Services on my 2015 ram 1500.

I have a friend who has a 2022 ram 2500 with the ******* Diesel. What is required to do the Transmission Service on this vehicle? Are there variations on Transmissions or do most of them come with a particular model Transmission?

What’s required to do the Transmission Service? Any special tips or tricks? Fluids? Any links?


I know that when I did my ram 1500. I had to raise the rear wheels about 10 inch to level the transmission.

I’m not sure if his truck has a similar requirement? Thanks for any helpful advice!

The 2500 has the 68- RFE transmission so you will need to buy ATF+ 4, As for filters here a link to Genos Grange: https://www.genosgarage.com/product/ram-transmission-service-kit-qsk2004/transmission-filters Now if its a 3500 then it can have either the 68 rfe or the Aisin transmission, the Aisin was used with the HO diesel engines

Thanks! Does the truck itself need to be level? Or is there a trick to leveling the transmission? To get an accurate read of the level. Also, is there a video on how to do that Transmission Service? Any special tips and tricks?


My next question is the transfer case. Which fluids for that?

No trans does not need to be level but the truck should be parked on level surface, my download Ram owners manual for the 2022 2500 states for transfer case to use high dollar $40+ a qt Mopar BW44-44, or RAVENOL Transfer Fluid BW 44 some people use the lower cost AMSOIL Signature Series Multi-Vehicle ATF

Yes that is the xfer case fluid.

Both, the trans fluid is aft 4+ and some use the same for the transfer case being they dont want to use the Mopar BW44-44 high dollar fairy dust fluid aka BW44-44, or RAVENOL Transfer Fluid BW 44 ..
