First i've ever heard of a Sport GT,is this now an option on the 5th Gens,or is this a dealer fabricated idea.

Exists, coming later to next year:

Appears like it's already available in Canada, but then again the first 5th Gen Sports were delivered to Canada before you guys south of the border could get them.If you watch the video, this truck is in an Alberta dealers showroom, she goes through the truck pretty good, and you can get a look at the console shifter in them.

Paddles are cool. But there’s gotten to be a lot going on with modern steering wheels. They have cruise control, horn, airbag, radio controls and probably more stuff that I don’t know about. Plus, in my eye, they are “carish”; Honda’s and F1.

But a Slap Stick conjures up visions of Dodge Muscle, burnouts, and other misdeeds. Lol.

That GT is tempting.

You can put paddle shifters in the 8 speed 4th Gens.I've had them in my truck for years.

That motortrend article says "Not for grand touring" but then doesn't close that thought with what it's about instead..

It's cool, but seems pricey for what you're actually getting. I've no use for "performance pages" and paddle shifters to make requests of a computer that can veto you don't really add much to the experience for me, but I get the aesthetic attraction. Lot of cash for a CAI and exhaust at the end of the day.

Likely be a good profit generator for Ram, though.

In order to differentiate the G/T from the run-of-the-mill 1500 Laramie and Rebel trims, Ram adds a special "sport performance" hood and "G/T" decals along the truck's flanks. Additionally, Ram adds G/T logos to the front bucket seats and a set of Mopar all-weather floor mats to so-equipped 1500s.

Decals, logos, and floor mats.... and gimmicky paddle shifters.

Well... I guess some people might like that. But not me.

New cars are crazy expensive. We just got a new Jeep and wow I was shocked at the stickers on them. Even the Rams are insane.

I expect there to be a rebound and then a glut of new cars on the market in about 2-2.5 years. We'll likely get something new then, as rebates and the like may be attractive. I will probably keep my Ram. There's nothing on the market I like better than what I have and I've only got a bit over 70k on my 2012.

I agree. I still like the look of mine too. The dealerships are offering no discounts and there is no wiggle room. I am usually able to wiggle something of the price. The only thing I got for free this time was free tires and oil changes. Not bad but not great.

You can still get a discount if you are willing to order and wait for the vehicle to come in. Ordered vehicles don't count against the dealer's allotment.

We could get $1k under invoice by ordering, but aren't ready to buy just yet. If you can wait, an ordered Jeep can be cheaper than a late model used Jeep right now. If you can't wait, you got to pay...
