I have seen in some videos online that some newer Chevys and Fords come with auto-sway control for towing where the computer will pump the trailer brakes if it senses sway. I just bought s 2024 2500 Laramie, and my salesman said it came with that feature. I cannot find it in the manual or find anything online about it. Do these trucks have that feature, how do I tell if my truck has it, and does it need to be enabled?

Found this link that shows the build sheet for your truck by VIN. Looks like it did come with the TSC (Trailer Sway Control system.

Any of the Ram trucks since 2013 with the OEM trailer brake controller have the trailer sway control. It's part of the vehicle stability control system.

How effective is it in reducing sway on trailers? Any way to determine when/if it is activating?

I haven't really paid attention to it but I've heard mixed reviews. Depending on how bad sway is, I have heard it may make things worse.

That said, my last two trucks have been Rams with the ITBC (my '17 wagon and this '22 CTD) and if the 'Wagon had it, it was completely useless. This truck claims to have it but I've never felt it work. I place more faith in my actual sway control for the trailer.

Nothing shows up on the dash unless the vehicle stability control kicks in, but by then ones sphincter is already clinched tight and not concerned about warning lights.
It's best to pay attention to how the trailer is loaded to mitigate trailer sway, keeping the load centered and a 10%-12% tongue percentage.(actual tongue weight divided by the entire trailer weight).

I'm going to say "it depends". It works quite well with trailers that do not require a weight distribution hitch. It also works quite well with "some" weight distribution hitches, and rather poorly with others.

I've had numerous WDH's over the years. The Andersen and ProPride DO NOT like it one bit. The truck and trailer will fight one another. On the other hand it worked quite well with an Equalizer, EAZ-Lift and Blue Ox.

You can turn off the trailer sway control by disabling traction control.

Yup, you beat me to the punch. I view the TSC feature on any truck as a last ditch thing where a .ot has to go wrong before it kicks in.

And be sensitive to what feedback you're getting through the vehicle. If things FEEL squirrely, they probably are, and you probably need to take steps immediately to mitigate the feeling, whether it be slowing down or pulling over to check the load/trailer/truck.
