So I bought a Certified Dodge Laramie 4 days ago. 2025 with the 3.0 Hurricane and after driving it 100 miles to my family in VA, the CEL came on. Checked all the fluid levels, no misfire, no hesitations, nothing. Called the salesman who i bought it from and they can get me in on Monday to have a look at it.

My last Ram 1500 lasted 200k miles and 15 years. I really am disappointed to having it serviced so soon.....

Will reply when I have some answers.

Cheers

It was/is still a USED vehicle, and, in my own experience in the dealer "Certified" means they paid a goon to change the oil and "check" it over. Whooopteee do!
I sincerely hope it is a simple and easy thing for them to fix. I'd recommend that you find an exceptional independent shop that has stellar techs, BEFORE you need one!

Well. They said they need the truck all day, and have given me a Jeep for the day.

Here in the good ole "Lone Star State", the additional implied warrantability of a vehicle by saying they "Certified", it gives a consumer here WAY more legal teeth to seek relief in these type of events. We have excellent consumer protection laws here.

So, it doesn't surprise me that they took your truck in and gave you a loaner, because it wouldn't surprise me at all if North Carolina had similar protections in place for you! Peace!

Well. Got my truck back. The CEL had gone off the morning that I brought the truck back. Without an active code, they said that there was nothing to be done. They fixed the rear seat heater but that was all.....Then I backed into a parking spot and I got a Blue Screen. I sent them a picture and they basically said turn it off, wait, turn it on. If it goes away, then I was all good. I did that, and the blue screen disappeared. Ah well.

My Dad was a systems engineer for IBM for many years. He told me many times that when dealing with intermittent problems, that is is sometimes better to be lucky than good! ;)
