My 22 Bighorn will not allow me to set the trailer brakes. I can see my dash say Trailer Brake. But when I go to use the up and down arrows on the steering wheel it kicks me up to option 6 Trip Ed into Info or down to option 8 Audio. It’s a 2003 Fleetwood Pop up. It should have electric brakes. It has a small box on tongue that says Bargman on it. Guess that’s a breakaway box for the brakes. Does that have to be plugged in for the system to work?

You have to be plugged in from the trailer to the seven pen connection at the rear of the truck by the license plate. It’s gonna take an adapter that plugged into the truck and one in and then into your trailer wire on the other most wires either have a six pin or a seven pin connector coming out depending upon if you have a reverse lighting or not so you have to buy a seven connector for the ram truck that goes to your connector from the trailer once that’s connected then the truck will see the trailer and you’ll be able to access the trailer screen. If you are using a four way flat connector to connect from your trailer to your truck, then you’re not gonna have any electronic trailer controls per se because the four pin connection on the truck is only for brake lights and running lights. It has nothing to do with the electric brake system
