Dreaded alternate trailer height question. What are the exact steps for using this ATH system? We've never "lowered" our truck to hook up our fifth wheel. Do we need to even hit this button? It never works anyhow. I'm assuming that if we don't hit the button, that when our load goes on truck, the compressor will still fill bags? Can't get ATH to go off either even without a load. Sigh. Close to having dodge remove this damn thing.

That's because your doing it incorrectly. The way it works is you have to hook up like you normally would then once your trailer is all locked in to the hitch then lift the front legs of the ground and the bags will fill up to adjust to thge weight of your trailers pin. Then once the bags are done filling up you willyou hit the alt trailer height but only if you need to lower the pin of the trailer any, if it's level then don't hit it. It's only going to lower it by an inch or so, but it helps as an extra tool in your adjustment bag of tricks. We haul a really long heavy fiver and it works great for us, going on 4 years now with it
If its a ball hitch or goose neck trailer then there is a bed lowering button in your 12" screen settings.
If you need to change a tire then there is a button in settings to disable all that

I was also told by the dealer that it's useful on 1500 & 2500s to hook up trailers as you describe, but the springs in the 3500 don't give enough for your bed to lower without a load.
