So I am contiplating moving back into an HD but a gasser this time. I really wanted a PW but the payload is no better than a 1500. Soooooo, what are the actual payload numbers posted on your door jambs? The stickers are always lower than the stinking max values in any literature you find. TIA! :favorites13:

Looking for a 2500 CC 4x4, 6.4 Hemi, most likely loaded.

That's what I'm talking about!

I know the PW is built for offroad and has a lower GVWR but I seem to remember the previous gen had like a 1900 lbs payload. Who knows, pretty sad they are so low. My buddy just got a PW and his sticker says 1272 lbs!!!

2014 Limited with all the goodies you can cram into it- 2760lbs payload for the 10000 lbs GVWR truck.

FWIW, there was a PW thread that had a payload of barely over 1000lbs.

Ya, I saw that one and i started poking around a bit. My buddy just got a Laramie PW and his sticker is only 1272 lbs. Kinda bummed, been wanting a PW for a long time

Biggest thing I wish I could change is a stock option for 456 gears. - eventually I will just have it done.

If you want the PW, but with the payload ability of a regular 2500 then why don't you just change out the PW rear linear rate coil to a progressive rate coil from a regular 2500. Both rear suspensions are basically the same besides the coil and shock. You can probably pick up an OE coil for about $200 each online or an aftermarket for a little less. Keep in mind that the sticker on the door will always be what it is, but you will not get in trouble by the law for going over that amount as long as your truck is registered correctly in the right truck class. Also your rear suspension articulation and wheel travel will go to shnit with the progressive rate coil too.

You and I think very much alike:favorites13: My concern is we live in a society that can't seem to follow logic and apply common sense to something like this. And if I ever had any problem, warrenty or civil, I would get the "you were over weight blah,blah,blah......." and hung out to dry.

Still temping, love the PW!

15 c.c. laramie with sunroof, loaded etc, 6.4, 3049lb door sticker

That's odd, my CC BH 4x4 with moonroof, prem cloth heated seats, 8.4AN, W2W steps, etc has a 2920 lb payload. Maybe the 20" wheels take away from payload. Guess i need to go on a diet.

difference is probably heavier 20" wheels and the steps, seems to be roughly about a 100lbs give or take. every option does removed from the capacity--think about what sliders and such do at 500lbs. leather vs fabric--negligible weight difference (i do upholstery part time for a living).

im in nyc, headed out to western pa two weeks ago to pick up a load of pipe i needed, about a 5-6 hour ride.
load was 3300lbs on the dot. i was cruising between 85-95 mph the entire way, or until i got to nj, what a pleasure to drive.
those 2-3 mile inclines were a breeze, i couldnt ask for more, never needed to rev high, just maintained speed without an ounce of effort

You must be reading the wrong chart.
