2500 tow hooks for my 1500?

Hey guys, I need me a set of tow hooks for my 06. Is it better to go with the 2500 hooks because of their strength? Also, is there any fabbing I might need to do to make them fit?

i know the 4th gen 2500 tow hooks don't fit my 1500 found that out the hard way haha probably is different for the 3rd gens tho

You are going to have to get in behind the front fascia to the frame ends to see if there is a plate with holes there. If so, yer good. Get the 2500 tow hooks.

If not, regardless of what tow hooks you go with, you are gonna need that area fabbed up with a plate welded to the end of the frame rails.

Ok I know I'm bringing back a 2 month old thread, but Maddog, this hole is just one of two on my drivers side frame mount. Does this mean I can run 2500 hooks? It's kinda filled with mud but that can be changed Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic..

Can you take a better pic with both holes and a little more info on the location?
If you measure the distance between the holes and how far back they are, I can measure my tow hooks so you will know if 2500 hooks will fit.
