I have an '02 2500 V10 4x4 auto 150k miles. It has always shifted hard into 2nd since I bought it about 2 years ago so shortly after purchasing it I sent it out to have the transmission power purged; the mechanic found a partially broken snap ring so he put the pan back on and left it as is. I replaced a leaky trans cooler line yesterday and today I noticed a significant leak from the small access for the torque converter. It doesn't seem to leak when it's in park or neutral, but it pours out when in reverse, like pouring a bottle of fluid straight onto the ground. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I am transmission dumb so any light that you guys could shed on this would be extremely helpful.

The vent line for these trannys is behind the Tq converter in the bellhousing. Check your fluid level at opt temp and in N see if its over filled.

Will do first thing in the AM; if it was overfilled wouldn't it vent out all the time?

The leak has become exponentially worse, couple mechanic friends think it's the input shaft seal; is there any way to change it without dropping the transmission?
