Anyone have experience putting Oversized Tires with 5th Gen and 3.21 Gears? I am doing the 3.5 Ready Lift and trying to determine if I should save Tire Weight and go with 35X 11.5 or 35 x 12.5...

I don't care about gas mileage, just really looking a Power Differences with the Larger Tires. I don't want a dog! Running stock Tires the 3.21 seem fine. (Had a 14 RAM with 3.92 Gears, but not the new one.)

Any help/input would be appreciated.

With 35s it will be fine with 3.21 or 3.92. Although with the 35s if you tow a lot heavy you may notice it slightly. The 3.92s will give you more oomph off the line. Otherwise the new 8 speeds help a lot, its not like the old 4 speed days lol I have a buddy who has a '20 with 3.21s and 35s he notices almost no difference, a little more downshiftng on inclines but thats it. I drove it and it was fine to me. I wouldn't worry. There is a forum over on 5th gen rams that heavily discusses the 3.92 vs 3.21 gears.

Whatever gearing/tire combo you are used to now, you will notice a difference with heavier tires, even if they are the same size.

I recently went from 35x12.5/17 falken atw3’s on my power wagon to the same size toyo rt trails…i am amazed at the decline of braking and acceleration for the same size tire. They must be heavier no doubt, but i havnt looked at how much yet.

That's a pretty big tire. Consider 4.10s?
