Just bought a 2020 1500 Classic Night Edition last week. Love the truck, hate the lights and tires. Put some new bulbs in and that made the lights alright until I upgrade to LED. Looking at a set of 275/65's. I was wondering if anyone had this size on their truck with stock suspension, and if there were any issues. I'm looking at putting a 2.5" leveling kit in a couple months; however, would like to put the tires on before too much snow is down. Any tips or opinions are appreciated.

I've read on the forums that several people reported no issues with the 275-65-20's on the stock suspension.

Definitely true since I bought my truck in March I've spent around 3 k in upgrades so far. It's addicting and really fun to take something and make it better or more unique.

I have that size, and they're fine. I've found that I can run 55 PSI without adding to the harshness of the ride - but that may depend upon the exact tire.

You guys that are running the 275/65/20, how has the added tire weight effected performance (seat of the pants) and fuel consumption, adding a typical average of 15# at the wheel, which is considerable, especially going from the 32" tall Goodyears along with the added height.

I put some LT295 /60 R20's on my truck a couple of months ago. I have a 2.5" leveling kit in the front. No issues whatsoever. Initially, the tire shop thought they could get 35" tires on, but they were a little too big and would rub the inside well on turns. These tires are basically the equivalent of 34".

Here's a good web site to cross reference tire sizes and help you compare.

I have Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs LT275/65R20 on my Sport with no issues what so ever. They are heavier and I do run higher air pressure. I really have not noticed any difference in performance, and hard to say about mileage since they have been on for so long.

Not the same size, but I had 285/60 20 on mine, which are just about the same diameter and wider, on a stock 2wd with no rubbing issues, so I imagine they would be fine.

I went from a 49lbs tire the a 72lbs tire. And that is stock 33.1” to 35.1”

Re-geared from 3.72’s to 4.88’s

Lost maybe 1 mpg

I went with nitto's that were XL rated and are 34.3 tall also IIRC . I can't remember the weight but they were 20lbs lighter than the E rated BFG 35-12.50 KO2s they replaced and are only half inch shorter and an inch narrower than the BFG's. That same 275-65-20 Nitto is also available in an E rated version thats much heavier and not really needed on a half ton.

I have Falken Wildpeak AT3 in 275/65/20 on stock 20” rims. They are E rated and I run about 50psi in them. The truck is leveled +zone UCA and 1” spacer in the rear.

The tires are great but heavy. I notice it on washboard roads and little bumps going sIow. I also feel like I lost a little on the acceleration with the extra weight. I got the E rated because I believed they would be more puncture resistant and I felt like I was patching the stock tires all the time. Now I am having second thoughts about the benefit of that.

I have the 3.92 gears so the truck is still quick and I am putting on a borla catback and core rear arms next week when they show up. I am also going to air down to 40psi and see how that feels.

275/65R20 BFG KO2's E rated on 20x9 Fuel Maverick -19 stock offset. Wanted e rates for towing, no noticeable difference in performance or gas mileage for me with 3.92 rear. I do notice a bit rougher ride which bugs me a bit but I need the durability and load rating for towing.
