yeah, i might start on it tonight....once i am off work. after looking at it in the day light i'm still really confident that this will be very doable. hardest part will be getting the third mounting spot, but i might be able to use a spacer and my bumper for it, but i am going to try and figure out a way to not use my bumper to make it easier for the rest of you, since not everyone has a big heavy duty bumper like me. I do know that if anyone else wants to do it, like JJ mentioned, the new lights are definitely taller, so bumper modifications will be necessary for anyone else, unless you upgrade to a 3rd gen bumper, than you should be able to make it fit perfect, might need bumper adjustments and lower the bumper, but one of you guys that do it with a stock bumper can figure that out for everyone else, i'll do the initial mounting figuring out. lol. Very anxious to get started on it but this damn "job" thing is getting in the way of me being able to do it right now....lol

also the guy i got them from said he checked out the forum, so hopefully he joins up and can chime in, see his old lights on a truck that was never meant to have them :********:

yep i joined up and have been following very excited to see the turn out on these i think its gonna look pretty awesome.

fender flares will definitely help, there literally is no enough room to keep them from sticking out. the inside of both lights are up against the core support, which i did not feel like cutting into. lol. but just about everything between the core suppoert and the actual fender skin, has to go. They stick out a little in the front, and a little on the side, but with fender flares, they will blend right in, and it won't be noticedable. those pics are with 1 mounting screw in both lights. lol. conveniently the radiator support bracket mounting location lines up with the top mount for the lights. todays agenda is finish up the other 2 mounts, the lower mount on the inside will need a spacer, and bolt into the core support, the one on the outside under the light, will be mounted with a custom bracket out of a some bar stock i got laying around... than just have to modify the bumper, and it'll be good. heading back out here in a minute....but i'll leave ya'll with a couple more pics from yesterday....i will also mention to others thinking about this, you do have to cut out alot of you fender, and i just takes time. i got lucky and have a buddy thats worked at body shops for years, so he jumped in and took care of the cutting, first one took a while because we didn't know what all we would need to remove, but once you do this mod, there is no going back...you'll see when you look at the pics...

couple more things, you also need to modify the lights...I am about to head out there, so i will show you the light mods too....does require the use of a heat GUN. not a torch, a torch would just melt everything here. you gotta make a little bit of room the core support, and you gotta bend in the mounting support bracket so it will avoid the grill mounting support bracket (which you also have to trim) ....but its all pretty easy...depending on what you think of as easy....

the go big or go home moment came along right about the second cut, when we took out some of the mounts for the stock lights...

I can agree...with out a welder, cutting that rad support and not welding in a piece that still gives strength is not a good thing.

But it is something to consider for the future if it gives a finished look. That's also how new skills are learned.
