Here is a video explaining it pretty clearly. Not uncommon to "break" the solenoid and leave a piece inside that has to be removed.

That magnet piece should have come out with the solenoid.

they looked like they were separate to catch fine metal particles.

I'm assuming the oil flows over it and the magnet catches any metal in oil it's a 2022 motor. but you know how assuming can go:oops:

I did a couple google searches. This is the closest to a definitive answer I could find.

Well, they are only in the MDS circuit oil passages. If the MDS solenoid is deleted, then there seems to be little use for them (the other 4 circuits don't have them from the get go). Plus they will be basically just sitting in the oil passage with only a magnet holding in place after the solenoid is deleted.. Don't think that is optimal and they "could" move / migrate where they shouldn't be, perhaps.

Bring them to the pond to do a float test.

they are gone the oil pressure would push them up off the seat without the solenoids and cause some issues. what do you guy's that deleted do with plugs ends was going to tape off so nothing can get in them

Looks very clean. I would probably put something over the plug to keep moisture out.

If you flushed the heater core out,you can run any coolant you want,if you didn't flush it,i'd stick with OEM coolant, but that's only my opinion.
