I thought I took enough pics as I started on cleaning up my valve covers for reassembly, but apparently did not.

1 of 24 valve cover bolts is a double sided bolt. Pretty sure that nothing was mounted to it.

The question is, Which hole on the left valve cover should I put it?

Thinking it was on the driver side, lower front, or the one just to the right of it, but cannot confirm.

One of you guys that has a 4.7 can you take a look/see and let me know?

They did clean up nice.

Bolts were rusty so I soaked off the rust and the cold zinc coating and painted the with engine paint and heat cured them.

Most likely a clip from a wiring harness slides over the top of that bolt .
Thank You!

I know the connector you are talking about. All of the ones I find on the wiring are the push in style for the little holes around the edge or the blades on the top of the manifolds.

Found a ground wire with a metal clip near the heater hoses, but unsure if that is the culprit. Thinking it is

Hoping someone with a 4.7 can confirm. Passenger side near cylinder 8.

Went out in between a few sprinkles of rain and think I may not remember doing anything with it.

Found this clipped to the firewall with the end clip. Theres no paint underneath where its been in clipped since before i bought the truck.

Tabout 6-8 inches up that ground wire, theres a clip dangling , which I assume should go on that stud. But how it's hooked up, it can't reach a stud anywhere.

Looks like someone extended the ground wire over to the firewall for one reason or another and disconnected the ground to the stud. Or it got broke off and they tied it onto the clip and attached it to the firewall after it was shortened and left it off the block.

Now would be a good time for that digital service manual I downloaded to work, but can't get it to work at all, none of browsers will open it.

Found the strap. #4 in the picture.

Think I'll just remove that extended ground and clip it where it should be. If something has issues, I can always run a longer strap to the bolt (#3) to resolve it.
