I'm trying to decide which intake to get and this one seems to be talked about highly in most forums. But I did read on a Vette forum that it caused their engines to run much hotter at idle and were worried about the wear and tear on their engine to be increased. Does this apply to our trucks?

On ours truck are a different beast, I love mines. It was between the volant and the vararam which both are awesome, it's just depend on what you like. I had the volant on my 06 ram hemi and love it.

I put on my new Vararam intake for my 09, and I can honestly say I am noticing a nice jump in gas mileage and better throttle response. I have used CAI of all types from volant to K&N on my gas and diesel vehicles and this one is by far the best one! I am not a big fan or oiled filters, amsoil does not have a filter to fit this application but overall I am very happy with their product and service!

Since the thread's been resurrected...what's up with the air filters? Reusable?

Intakes are not supposed to void any part of the warranty I've been told.

Mine has held up great to mud. I've been out several times and nothing has come even remotely close to the intake. Just so we're clear...this is what I mean when I say mud. The intake seals right up to the hood on the inside, so no mud could get in from under the hood either.

I was told the filters are reusable. I need to confirm that as mine probably needs cleaning from being down at the beach a few times now.

Sorry to resurrect this thread again...but has anybody towed with this intake yet? I am worried of over heating since it blocks some airflow to the radiator. Anybody see any problems with this?
