Will a 2020 Ram 2500 bed fit on my 2014? Looking to trade my flatbed for one and not sure if it’ll fit.

I would be guessing, but are both beds the same length ?
I think that the beds are 5' 7" , 6' 4" , 8 foot

If your 2014 is a 2500 then yes it will. It is the same bed.

If it is a 1500 then you have to make sure it is a 6'4 bed you have and not the 5'7.

Also if your 2014 has an 8 foot bed...it is the same too

For future reference....please give more info about your truck.

Assuming makes a well you know.

Thanks for the replies. I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with a 6.4. From what I gather, if the bed is a 6.4, it will fit both 4th and 5th Gen, regardless of it being a 1500 or 2500. Is that correct?

A 2019+ HD 6'4 bed will fit a 2009 to 2018 and 2019 to 2021 classic 1500.

A 2019+ HD 6'4 bed is the same overall bed as a 2010 to 2021 HD.

2009 to 2018 1500 and 2500 trucks use the same exact 6'4 bed

The 2019 to 2021 1500 is not the same.

Note that the taillights and tailgate are different.

If you have a lower trim and are getting a higher trim...the plugs may be different. Or vise versa

I just signed on here for this very reason. I just put a 2021 8' bed on my 2012. The lights are interchangeable (used my originals but would eventually like to use the 5th gens - only have the incandescent lights) but the issue that I am running into is the wiring for the tailgate release. I don't know when this changed but the 21 tailgate is released by a button and electronic actuators on either side. No levers or rods. My truck doesn't have any wiring (that I know of) for the tailgate and I don't know if the electronic locking tailgate was an option in 12. Already tried applying 12V and ground to it but there are 3 wires. Likely supposed to be from the BCM.

Does anyone have any info on this?

Could you just swap out your original tailgate handle & linkage into the ‘21 tailgate?

That is what I am thinking I may have to resort to but the opening in the sheet metal is a lot larger on the 21. I may have to get creative to mesh the two together.

And for anyone that asks, a 2012 tailgate won't fit onto a 21 bed. The pivot on the bottom right (that has the slot to remove the tailgate) is different. On the 12, the tailgate piece is female and on the 21 version is male. I think it had to do with the soft drop system.

Just curious how you made out? I have a 2014 RAM 2500 CCLB Tradesman and I have a takeoff bed from a 2019 or newer. He gave me a damaged tailgate (Camera Missing) and bumper with it. I am not sure how to go about figuring out the wiring? The guy I bought it from made it seem like it was plug and play, but I don't believe him as he also told me it was a 4th gen bed after traveling 250 miles and refused to send me pics before I went.

I am planning on doing a 5th Gen 8' bed/tailgate/bumper on my 2014 RAM 2500 CCLB. Anyone have experience with this swap? I am trying to figure out the tailgate wiring as I know that's an issue.

Did anyone ever figure out the tailgate release wiring on this swap? I'm getting ready to swap a 2022 on to a 2012 and was hoping that someone has a solution for this.
