Been an observer on this forum for a while but just joined and have a problem I was hoping to get some help with. Any help is much appreciated.

Vehicle info:
2008 ram 1500 4.7 FLEX quad cab electronic 4wd

Prob:
Shifted from 4auto to 4lock. 4lock flashed and never shifted in. 4 wheel "neutral" on solid. Now I cannot get it to shift into 4wheel (auto lock or low) at all. Dont even get the flashing indication on the dash when it is trying to shift. I have 2wd even though the neutral light is on. I have been researching this and think it could be either the transfer case shift motor or the TIPM. Is there a way to diagnose which one it could be? If I unhook the transfer case shift motor I get the neutral light off and the 4wd service light on. Plug it back in and I get the neutral light back on.

I dont want to start throwing parts at this thing. Right now it is drivable (with 2wd) so I am not in a super hurry to get it fixed but I do want to get it fixed and get it fixed right so willing to take my time to work through and diagnose. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would say follow procedure for shifting out of neutral see if that fixes it? sounds like a sensor may have bit the dust or motor died and its default is 2wd

Sorry should have clarified. I did try the restore from neutral procedure to no avail. Unhooked battery for approximately 10 minutes. Checked 30amp "offroad module power" and it was good. Just got home from work and hooked up my scanner and got the following codes:
C1407: Transfer case brake control circuit low
C140D: Transfer case motor control circuit open
C1405: Transfer case range position sensor circuit high

Cleared the codes and started the truck. Let it sit and idle for ~5 minutes. Read codes again and no codes thrown.

I do have a superchips cortex 87 octane tune and transmission shift point mod installed if that makes any difference.

Again, thanks again for any help in advance.
