service 4wd that doesn’t turn off

the transfer case fell out of my truck (literally). after much swearing and yelling i finally got it fixed. but now there is warning to service the 4wd system. i put fresh gear oil in it and tried to reset it but to no avail. any suggestions

Was any of the wiring damaged?

Perhaps a pin in a connector was dislodged during reassembly.

I would suspect an electrical issue with that notification.

Who installed the transmission,as that had to be an installer error when the transmission was replaced.

I seem to remember you having this issue several months back

you are correct sir. the transfer case fell out of my truck (literally). i worked on it until it got cold. now that spring is here in alberta it’s back in. it seems to work fine but i still have a check transfer case code that i can’t clear. i have tried to reset it by disconnecting the battery.

i’m going to fight with again today. i have a 4x4 shift motor coming. its the one on the axle. a power wagon has a lever on the floor with a handle

when i shift into 4x4 it seems to work but i am going to have to find some mud to make sure. it definitely goes into low range but i dont know if the axle is engaged.

Meaning there's no actual stored code you can see with a scanner?

It could only be a couple things. Bad wiring, Actuator going bad, and faulty wheel speed sensors.

i have ordered a new actuator. so we shall see i hate just throwing parts at a problem. but the part in question isn’t that expensive so i will try it. it’s supposed to be here tomorrow
