4WD seems like its "grabbing" when engaged?

Mb an issue or not ladies and gents. I haven't used the 4wd in Marilyn since winter and today thought i would engage on a short trip to the DQ. Leaving the drive-thru it seemed like she had her e-brake engaged (of course i use it) so i reach down, nope not engaged, nor the display on, but she feels "heavy" I press the accelerator and we start to move but turning to leave out it felt like and i actually kind of heard the front tires "grabbing" i stopped put her in neutral shifted out of 4wd, the display turns off but it really seemed as though it did not dis engage. I repeat process and then it does feel as though only the back wheels are working. Now once i did engage 4wd low when it was icy and you can definitely feel the difference between the two of course but what the hell?

You don't mention the surface you're on.

If you're on anything other than ice / really low traction surface (Not just wet pavement) you should 100% NOT be using 4wd.

4WD creates binding in your drivetrain on a hard surface.

i'm not sure how common it is or if it even happens with the new electronic stuff but with the manually engaged 4wd sometimes it wouldn't completely disengage and you'd have to move back and forth a bit

Post up what you figured out. It may help someone else.

My bad sorry RAMMERS
The 4wd drive on my RAM is not a full time unit. Yes it is "synced" to a certain extent but where an all wheel drive vehicles management system controls all the wheels separately therefore giving a smooth ride across hard even surfaces. 4wd on Marilyn is used for specifically uneven slippery situations/surfaces: ice, mud, snow etc. so its going to feel "strange" on an even hard surface where its not needed. This made a lot of sense to me when i actually thought about it. Thnx ******:)
