4x4 clicks when engaged?

Hey i was wondering if anyone else has had this? maybe its normal but idk because this is the first 4wd truck ive ever owned. the 4wd seems to work flawlessly offroad but when i drive in 4 high on a paved surface it clicks really hard. im only going 20-30mph but it clicks until it is disengaged. any help would be greatly appreciated. and if it helps any the truck is a 2001 2500 with an HD package and the v10 engine. thanks!

I'm no expert, but if I'm correct 4wd on paved surface with no allowance for slip would cause issues with your UJ's..... hence the clicking. Disengage 4wd.
IDK if that's right for the 2001's but i certainly wouldn't engage 4wd on pavement in my 96.
And I blew out a UJ this way in my jeep when the TC shifter broke...
