There is a lot you can do to the ol Magnum motors.
First thing to do is make sure you plenum gasket isn't leaking.
Just fixing that can net you a decent increase in power.
I ran a Hypertech on my '00 Ram, and honestly I couldn't tell it did a damned thing other than help the shifting. But that's the main thing I wanted so...

Harland Sharp Roller Rockers.
The stock rockers are a non roller design with a 1.5 ratio.
Going to a roller 1.7 ratio will give reduce valve train loss and effectively change your cam profile to somethine more aggressive (valves open more, stay open longer) without having to do a cam swap.
The cheaper version of this mod is to order up Gen I Viper rocker arms (still non roller) but they are 1.6 (if I recall) and drop right in quick and cheap.
They are the best mod I ever did to my old 2nd gen ram. Better gain than intake, exhaust, tuner, larger tb, any of it. And they are a basic bolt on mod, easy install with great results.
Summit has them.
