I have a 2018 2500 6.4. I would like to remove the EGR ass'y. The front timing cover has coolant pipes and the EGR Valve mount. Does the 5.7 not have and EGR ass'y?

It it doesn't I can then remove all of that and everything else should be the same?

Thanks

No EGR on the 1500. My 2006 300c had an EGR that I deleted, but they got rid of that with 2011+.

not for nothing, but I am going WAY out of my way to keep the EGR on my truck. When you want the power, the computer shuts it off. When you dont, EGR makes the cyl act smaller meaning less air and fuel are needed to fill the chamber. If this was the old smog pump i would delete it. But since its the first thing WOT shuts off, its not worth deleting. I am working on a custom EGR tube to re-route mine instead of going up and across the entire valve cover. I want the lower exhaust temps, better fuel efficiency, and a couple other minor things having the egr gets me.

Are you referencing 3rd gen or something else other than egr?

I see OP updated that their truck is a 2500. Since the 1500 doesn't have EGR on the 4th Gen, I'm not familiar with the process specifically.

However, for my old 300c, an EGR blockoff plate was required and a tune modification to not throw codes. Looks like mmx makes a 6.4 blockoff plate, so it may be a similar process. https://www.modernmusclextreme.com/...replacement-for-egr-block-off-68478018ad.aspx

One thing worth mentioning as well, on the 300c, it was not uncommon for individuals to have issues reverting back to stock and reinstalling the egr system. The blockoff plate would create a buildup of soot back down in the system and prevent the system from working appropriately when reinstalled. Just an FYI if you'll be putting it back to stock at some point.
