5 speed troubles

hello all and thank you for the add. I have a 97 2500 12 valve with a nv4500 5 speed. The problem is when I am driving and let off the throttle I get a hard clank from either the transmission or transfer case. Has any one had this problem and if so what was the cause? Thank you

I'd check universal joints first, carrier bearing if it has one, and bearing for diff yokes.

I check everything out even pulled front drive line it had a little play in it. I am still getting that noise and you can feel it hit like something is jumping. Any suggestions would be great thank you
