my parents had a similar situation with their jeep. they purchased a wrangler when Chysler was offering the lifetime powertrain warranty. The head took a dump when they put bad gas in it. then the dealer said that it needed a special inspection because of the warranty and never had it done because they were never told this. even though the vehicle was always serviced at the dealer

Five year inspection was in the fine print of the warranty. They also would mail out a reminder card to last address on file before the 60 day window to schedule the appointment. A lot of people mistook it as junk mail and trashed the card.

Engine failure due to bad fuel wouldn’t be covered under FCA’s powertrain warranty, anyway.
