I have the following setup currently.

‘17 ram 4x4 CC
3.21 gears
Nitto 35x11.5
Procomp 6” lift
Bilstein 5100s at .7”

Current fender heights:
43.50” front
44.75” rear

As we all do...I’ve become bored with the current setup and just want a little more out of it.

But something I also don’t want to do is just jack up the bilsteins to 2.8 and destroy my perfect front end geometry. I feel like the angles and ride stiffness are better with the bilsteins lower.

And I’m also not swapping gears due to the hassle these trucks present in doing so. So that means I’m limited with tire size....no 37s.

So yeah I’d love to add 37s and a 3” body lift to create a monster of a truck but the biggest I want to go is a 325/60r20.

A 325/60 is like .75” taller and 1.5” wider than my current tires so I think they’d look good with my truck plus a little more lift.

My question is will adding a 1.5” BL be worth it and noticeable on top of the 6” procomp lift?

I also like that the bodylift is cheap and easily removable if down the road I don’t want it anymore.

So what say you guys....is this going to be a worthwhile endevour?

CURRENT:
6” procomp
35x11.5

To

PROPOSED:
6” procomp
1.5 BL
325/60

I know some people prefer some sort of stuffed tire look with 40” tires on a stock ram but I don’t. But I also don’t want it to look like I have 10” ofmlift with 33 tires lol. Are 325/60s too small for 6” + 3” body lift if the bilsteins are set down low?

I feel like with my proposed setup it’d look noticibly better with almost 2” increased height and wider tires.....but I’m wondering what you guys think......

Damn...that looks good as is. Im liking it.
The body lift should give the advertised height...1.5”. Question is do you want vs need it. A tire that is .75 taller should easily fit in those gaps and not look stuffed. I understand wanting the wider tire....are those 20x9 or 20x8 oem rims?

Appreciate the compliments!

They’re the 20x8s

So for the 325/60 I was looking into some 20x10s

It’s entirely a want thing. Just want a little more height but I know it’s not actually necessary.

So starting from there I would like the truck to sit a few inches higher. To achieve that I have two options:

1) crank my bilsteins up from .7 to 2.1 (or even 2.8) to get 1.4-2.1” higher.

But with this route I actually like the rake it is so i’d I’ve to raise the rear by a similar amount.

This method also changes the front end geometry and ride characteristics to a certain extent which isn’t necessarily desired.

2) get a body lift. I think the 3” is possibly too much but I’m not sure if the 1.5” will be noticeable enough.

This method obviously requires no changes to the rear since the whole thing just goes straight up the same amount all 4 corners

So after I achieve a couple more inches of height I know my 35x11.5s are going to look small. Especially with how narrow they are but I’m not crazy about throwing 37s into a 1500.

So I thought something that lies in between would suit my needs better which is why I’m attracted to the 325/60s.

buy the 325's and 20x10's first and then see how it looks, you might not want to change the lift at all
I hear you. But where I’m at right now is that I want the truck up just a little higher.

If I leave the ride height then I’d also just leave the wheels/tires alone too....bc it has a good look as it sits.

I just have the irrational desire for it to sit a little higher and if I do that then I feel like the tires hafta get a little bigger but without going to 37s on a 1500.

Next truck will be a 2500 so I don’t have so many limits to contend with lol.

I agree with JB1. 20x10s and 325s would fill the width of the flares out nicely while keeping the fender to wheel gap at it's current measurement. I think it would look nicely proportioned. If you need more height, you can add it in after getting a good idea of what the truck would look like with the new wider shoes.

@rwhjr ^^ this is exactly what I'm saying, get the bigger tires/wheels and then decide how much more lift you want (if any) and how to accomplish the additional height.

Not the greatest of angles but this is a 1500 with a 6” rough country plus a 3” body lift

Wheels are 20x12 -44 with 325/60s

I think it’s got a little more wheel-fender gap than I’d want but it’s also a 3” BL with Bils cranked higher than mine I’m assuming.....which is why I was honestly thinking about a 1.5 BL

I fully understand the logic of getting the wheels first and then doing more lift

But what I’m saying is I’m not happy with ride height...regardless of the tires. I’d like it a bit higher. Not crazy high, but want a little more.

So if you’re saying do the wheels first because you think 325/60 is too small for 7.6” of total lift

5.375” from procomp 6 inch
+
.7” bilsteins
+
1.5” bodylift

on a 1500 then I guess I might as well trade the truck in bc that’s the biggest tire I can use with my trucks drivetrain IMO.

In your guys’ opinions what do you think the amount of total lift for our trucks would look good with a 325?

That truck looks great, go for it
Honestly I wish I could swap gears to 456 and I’d throw 37s on and not question anything. If I could find some 37s that weighed under 80lbs that is..

I just feel like I’m already stretching it with a 325/60 which I’ve been looking at on the custom offsets website....and they do look better than the 35x12.5s with bigger lift heights but they’re not quite as filling as 37s.

It’s really an in between size that I like the width of but much taller and my 321s will make me hate the truck

Funny thing is the Nitto 325/60 is larger in every aspect than my current 35x11.5 but somehow it’s still lighter?

325/60 69lbs
35x11.5 72lbs
37x12.5 82lbs

And I want no part of putting an 82lb tire on this 1500 due to front end wear as well as braking etc. I feel like it’s just a little too much

How much total lift (excluding gains from your tires) do you have with your 6” lift and bilsteins?

My trucks fenders are 46-1/4”

My buddy at work has those tires in 325. They are lighter because they are an LT tire and tread depth is 16mm versus 18mm. I hope you do this, I have been considering this size myself

I ran 37’s on my 3.21’s for 50k miles. My truck still had plenty of power. It wouldn’t quite get to 8th all the time, but it did. Still hit the eco mode. My mileage was 11-12. It was **** but looked awesome. I just put a set of 38’s on, but I also swapped the front and rear axles to 3.92 with antispin.

Here is my 38x13.50x20 mounted on a 20x12 -44 wheel. I have pocket flares, and they might stick out 1/4"
6" lift and bils set at 2.8

That truck looks nice, and still well proportioned. Too high for me to drive, but I dig the look... Would definitely turn my head if I saw it driving down the road.

So do you guys think 40" on 20" rims is too much for a 2018 1500 2wd? That is what I want on my truck. I know re-gearing will be needed so I am looking at the yukon 4.88s. What are you thoughts and experiences. I by the way, I am looking at the 7" MaxTrac too ....
