6" exhaust tips are actually the right size ;)

If you check the curve in our bumper cutouts, if appears they might have been designed to fit a 6" tip, IF you want an even gap all the way around. Or maybe that's what I keep telling myself because I have wanted to put 6" tips on my truck for a long time!

I got side tracked when I started working on a custom roll pan design, but I am still kinda torn between keeping my bumper and doing something a little different with the tips or doing the custom roll pan... :hmm:

Check out this pic. This is an aFe exhaust system made for the diesel. Looks perfect right?! ;)

I have the MF 16869 with 5" tips, powder coated black.

They look ok, but I need to figure out how to get black 6" tips on there.

Notice how the cutout tapers away from the tip at the bottom.

I want 6" tips and I want them really close and really flush to the bumper!

Ehhh, I'd have to see it in person. I call dibs on your tips though if you sell them!

I am not getting much positive feedback on this idea... :roflsquared:

But I do appreciate the honesty! :favorites13:

If (I said IF, lol) I was to go ahead and make this mod happen, would this be the right way to do it?

Get an adapter (see pic) 2.5" to 4". Clamp it or weld it to the tip (see pic) which is 4" inlet and 6" outlet?

why not 7"... Go big or go HOME......lol

I actually looked at 7" but that will not fit in the cutout... :superhack:

Right? lol
Just dont do this...lol

Ok, ok... Lol! Damn that is big!

Seriously, before I found the aFe picture, I took a black cereal bowl that is exactly 6" in diameter and I held it up to my cutouts and it looks perfect!

David, I think you just need to realign your Magnaflow tips, and you will be set. It can be a pain to get them centered correctly, but once you do, you will be much happier.

6" would definitely be different, but they would hang down pretty low and look awkward from the side IMO.

Graygoose - you make a good point, lol... I enjoy the hell out of modding my truck, though! :)
