6" Lift to a 4" Lift

I have a 2022 1500 4 wheel drive that currently has a 6" Rust Country lift on it. Its having some alignment issues but before I get that dealt with I am wanting to drop it to a 4" lift. I was thinking about buying a zone 4" lift and swapping it all out? Thoughts? Is there an easier/better way to do it? What would you all do? And no, I do not want to keep it at 6". Thanks.

Have a RC 4” and it’s the second time the front shocks failed so I too am waiting to hear about zones 4”.Id do it if it would stop the alignment issues.

Can you share some pics of the rear suspension. Specifically I am interested if you have control arm drop brackets and a panhard bar relocation and if you have spring spacers or RC springs.

Then, some pics of the front suspension. Looking for which upper control arms you have, and if you have strut spacers.


It may be really simple to do, may take a lot of parts or a whole new kit. Any chance you have the part # for the lift kit that is on it now? I could probably look through the instructions and figure it all out real quick.

Can't tell if you have rear lower control arm drop brackets in those pics but I assume you do. You definitely have the panhard drop bracket.


Just my preliminary inspection...

You will need to remove the front dif drop and possibly the front drive shaft spacer. And remove the front lower control arm drop bracket/cross member. Remove the rear panhard bar relocation bracket, and remove the rear lower control arm relocation bracket. Need new struts and rear springs as there are no spacers to remove.


I think the best way to go about this would be to get an Eibach pro lift/level kit. The Eibach comes with rear springs that are +3" I think, and the front struts are adjustable to over 3" taller than stock. It's a good thing you don't have geometry correcting front upper control arms. Typically a 4in kit with geo correcting uppers leave the upper control arms at a funky angle. But, you might want to consider some Zone upper front control arms too with the Eibach kit. As to get to ALMOST 4in over stock, you're going to have to crank the preload all the way up on the front struts.

EDIT:

Looks like you might need some new rear swaybar endlinks too. Those don't appear to be stock but, may still work lowering it a bit though.

Maybe a full new 4in kit might make this easier. But, will have to do some research.

I have no idea what to do about the 6in knuckles though. If you go with the Eibach setup I am talking about, you'll need stock knuckles.

Wouldnt need to remove the front diff drop if hes gonna keep it at 4”.

But, i personally would remove everything, sell it as a complete kit for a song and get a complete new 4” kit.

Best way to go is a Zone 4" full kit, with the Fox rear shocks and new front struts or coil overs. Then you can take all the ROUGH country stuff off and replace it with new quality components and sell the old RC stuff.
