8.4 GPS sucks!

How does that Alpine unit work with all the other stuff controlled through the radio like seat heat, climate control, etc?

I heard factory 8.4 gps sucks, and costs money to download new maps. Thats why I chose my aftermarket 8" alpine. Free updates, doesnt require cell signal, includes real time traffic updates, has 3D buildings, shows very detailed exits and shat lane you need to be in, and is crazy accurate.
Plus has 3 sets of rca outputs to connect an amp. Rca outputs have a lot cleaner signal than those expensive units needed to run an amp.

I have the X208U that does not control those features (but there are so many settings i might have just missed them).

The X108U has touch screen controls for all of the heat and controls.

I have an old assed TomTom I run and you can upload a chit ton of voices into it (or make your own). I have Christopher Walken giving me directions right now....

I just looked at the crutchfield site, and my radio has climate control on screen but you have to buy the Idatalink harness.
My ram is a 2010 and doesnt have the newer fancy climate control. Lol. So i didnt get that harness.

Wow, $1700 for the X108U. I love Alpine, and it's great to know there's an option out there, but I'll have to wait on that one. Thanks for the info.

Amazon has it for $1400. I paid $1000. Used
For my X208 on ebay. It was used as a demo. Wasnt a scratch on it. Thet have used ones on ebay cheap
