I replaced my touchscreen last October (easy job) and it worked fine for about 7 weeks. Now, the bottom row of options on the touchscreen are no longer responding. (Radio, Climate, Settings... etc) All other options above that bottom row work fine.

Coincidently, I had my windshield replaced on the day it stopped working, or perhaps the very next day and I just didn’t notice. It just seems unlikely that affected it but... who knows?

I’ve taken both “holy sh*t” handles off on both sides of the windshield and inspected the wiring behind them. Nothing worn or frayed, it all looks good.

I’ve got a new touchscreen coming today or tomorrow but I’m starting to suspect it’s not the screen, rather some wonderful Stellantis wiring issue in some harness somewhere.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

Cheers.

Just added a photo. Radio, Media, Climate, Apps, Controls, Phone, Settings. No response when touching these. As mentioned, everything above works fine.

Their are different version of the screen BUT there are also many aftermarket non-LG options now. Do you have a link to what you purchased originally and the one on the way? THe delamination issues don't manifest as unresponsive buttons but rather as buttons pressing themselves (ghost touches). Also, it couldn't hurt to check the firmware version. What prompted you to change the screen to being with?

********** UPDATE ***********
I just finished installing the new touchscreen, which I purchased from a different seller on eBay. It works.

Someone said to me, back in the 1990's, electronic components either fail in the first 6 months, or they last for years. I won't be sharing who I bought the touchscreen off last October because I think that previous statement applies, unless they give me grief on the return process. Then I will definitely warn people.

Thanks for the feedback.. always appreciated.

**** DON'T BUY A TOUCH SCREEN FROM THIS EBAY SELLER ****

Sad, but not surprising, the ebay vendor that sold me the touch screen that failed after only 7 weeks refuses to give me a refund even though the screen has a 5 year warranty. To make matters worse, they repeatedly asked me to take pictures of the back of the unit, and digitally record the installation process to validate that I did it correctly. Ya, right... I'm going to tear my dash apart, pull out my radio, remove the touch screen, take more pictures, THEN... put the defective unit back in to see if it works... all the while digitally capturing the process. Not happening!

The eBay sellers name at time of purchase was aokailongcar. They have now changed their name, dropping the "i", to aokalongcar. See attached screen shot.

I've contacted ebay help and filed a complaint.

Cheers.

eBay will likely enforce the refund on your behalf. Especially with the shady name change in between. I'd be interested to see the back of the screen you took out if you wouldn't mind posting a picture? The way their item listing blurs out/obscures the LG brand would make me suspect "not LG" but made to look close enough to fool a casual consumer.

Definitely not LG brand, it's a knock-off. From what I can see, the only thing that's LG is the 60 pin flat cable.

Multiple pics attached.... cheers.

LOL, super bootleg! THis is what a genuine panel looks like (it won't have two revision numbers on it.

Yup... same as my original. Seems a new LG is 2.5x the price.
Guess I'll see how long this knock off lasts, hopefully more than 7 weeks!
Just hold them to the warranty. You'll be good...
