New to the forum. Is it possible to buy an lcd 8.4 uconnect with the glass screen attached?

We have a 2018 3500 Ram. Uconnect screen delamination, lots of ghosting. Opened it up and got all the gunk out and still doesn't work. Think we need to replace the digitizer. Got the impression online that it's really important to have the correct spacing between the glass and the lcd screen. It would be so much better to buy the whole unit.

Did you ever get a fix? I am thinking of replacing the glass only. Amazon $100.

I know it's a year later, but the spacing actually doesn't make a huge difference, other than the look. The delam issue CAUSES the ghost touches, but if you are willing, you can actually clean the goop out from between the digitizer and LCD, and it will work fine again. It is messy, sticky, and there is a good chance you will break the digitizer/LCD if you are not careful, but it could save you the $450-600 of the new screen/digitizer combo, or the $1300 for a new unit from the stealership.

If you do decide to buy a new "unit", make sure you get the Gen3 screen (the model number ends in like SL#. The SL1's are the junk we all have failing us, the SL2's reportedly are actually not much better. SL3's we all hope fix it.)
