First time poster forgive me if I’m in the wrong spot. My wife’s truck is a 2014 1500 with the pentastar v6 and the 845re trans. I’ve done multiple searches through the net and can’t seem to get any solution to my issue just other “common” issues that I’m not having. Her transmission appears to be leaking from the top down the passenger side. Does anyone know any known issues or have experience with this? I’ve tried looking up there and feeling around but it’s to tight for me to see exactly where it’s coming from or that’s going on. Thank y’all for the help.

Does it have a dipstick? If so it could be to "O" ring. Also check where the lines that go from the radiator/cooler to the trans.

Can you get pictures?

No trans dip stick. It almost looks like motor oil but keep checking the dip stick on it and it’s full. I know the trans fluid it calls for us darker like a motor oil.

10 bucks says the oil filter housing is leaking. They leak all over the place and end up covering the trans with oil.

Tach_tech is that a common problem? A oil filter housing replacement will fix it?

It is common yes. Partially due to a poor design as well as people over tightening the oil filter and cracking the housing.

There appears to be oil under it so that seems to be the culprit. I’m going to pull it apart and see for sure. Thank you guys for the help.
