The shortage issues may worsen; Ford just announced a massive recall of its F-150s due to transmission downshifting and rear-wheel lockups. Geez, that sounds familiar.

"Ford has issued multiple recalls for F-150 transmissions, most recently for over 550,000 trucks (2014 model year) due to unexpected downshifts into first gear, and a safety recall for 2021 models that may shift into neutral while driving. Other recalls involve 2018 models for rollaway risks and 2015-2017 models under investigation for sudden downshifting."
