Do you need a connected Cell Phone for the 911 Button to work if needed?

I know for sure that the ASSIST button connects to a SIERRA AIRCARD in the radio, the aircard is a stand alone phone modem that is assigned to the Rams VIN # & to use it, you must pay a monthly fee, it is part of the fee based APPS

I really don't know about the 911 button
It seems like a person should be able to use that button if you were in an accident, it almost has to be connected to the GPS system

It does NOT have anything to do with your personal cell phone

It's like OnStar. I think if you buy the truck new you get a free trial period. At least that's what I was told when I bought mine new
