Im planning on looking at a 95' dodge ram 1500 its a V8 not sure if its the 318 or 360 I haven't talked to the guy yet on the phone just email and you know you never get all you ask answered on a email. the thing I need to know is , how many o2 censors are on the truck ? he said theres 3 and I thought there was only 2 . his mechanic said the truck shouldn't be run until its replaced which I know it might make it run lean or rich but I know a lot of people who run there rigs with bad o2's which I know you shouldn't . but can somebody tell me how many there is ? and is there anything I should check out/look for when I do get to talk to him on the phone and hopefully go look at the truck . what I know so far besides the o2 is theres a little rust on rear bumper it has 150,000 its a reg. cab V8 auto and that's about it . anyhelp would be great ! Thank you

Should only have 2, one pre-cat and one post cat. The pre cat is the more crucial one, that's the one that adjusts fueling. The post cat one is mainly used to determine if the cat is doing its job or not.

That's what I thought but ? now is it ok to drive home till I can change it ? I don't think it should be anymore then say 20 miles . plus it would be nice to hear it run and move it through the gears.

I've run lots of vehicles with the cat cut out and O2 still hooked up but it will be fine for a little, like u said if anything it would just make it run rich or lean. Nothin u would even notice for 20 miles

I wouldn't buy that truck unless it starts and runs. Sounds like a scam. The motor could be blown.

Crank position sensor. I'd tell him to fix it before I would buy it. Wouldn't cost him that much if that's all that's wrong with it, other wise I'd pass on it.
