can anyone list a complete part list needed to convert my 01 5.9 4x4 auto, to a manual?

don't say buy another truck, cause it isn't happening. And I am capable of doing such a swap, just want to have everything before next summer so i can do it over a weekend.

thanks

Just your typical parts, pcm will ***** about not seeing the auto and will set a cel. N safety switch must be changed as well.

Flywheel to fit the right motor, 5.2 is diff from 5.9
Release bearing
Stick tranny
Clutch and pressure plate
Slave cyld assy
Pedal set
Pilot bearing/bushing
Release bearing fork

Edit; Check the spline count on the stick tranny's output shaft, make sure it matches your xcase input spline count.

Transfer case from the auto will work with the manual? Sweet. Do I need to get a different transmission crossmember or drive shaft?

maybe it would be easier for me to find a 4x4 nv3500/4500 extended cab short bed in the junkyard, and grab the trans/xcase and driveshafts from that, so i know they fit

From the measurements I have taken based on a 4500 swap NO you will not need new driveshafts. Yes there is a good chance that you can use your xcase.

I would not mess with the 3500 behind the 5.9 motor, best to find a good used 4500 and yes a donor truck makes things much easier.

Edit: If you decide to go 4500 I might have a opt for you to look into, also if you go 4500 make sure you get the nv4500 GAS bellhousing, the dsl bell or the v10 will NOT fit the small gas motors.

Thought I'd revive this thread a little. Took my truck to tne ship this morning and hopefully them be able to tell me what's wrong with my trans and how much roughly to fix it. If they tell me rebuild I'll probably try and take it to a custom shop that can swap in a 4500.

What needs to be done to the pcm on such a swap? Does it need replaced or can it be reflashed?

Edit: this would cost about the same as a rebuild correct?
