Transmission Clunk

My dad's 2021 Ram Classic, V6 Warlock has started clunking when he places it in reverse. This mostly occurs when the truck is cold. After shifting a few times it goes away, or after it has been warmed up.

He also notices there are uneven shifts between 1st an 2nd gears as well when the transmission is cold. Again, after it warms, there is no noise or sensation.

Looking for other experiences that have been resolved.

I would suspect something in the drive line like u-joint, driveshaft spline, or differential causing the clunk more than the transmission. It probable with the engine rpm being higher when cold the clunk is more noticeable.
How many mile on the truck and when was the transmission fluid changed?
The 8HP transmissions in these trucks are mostly trouble free.

Not a gear head. Perhaps apples and oranges.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. 64,000 miles. Started clunking when placing in Drive. Reverse at times. Uneven shifts.

Dealer says transmission has to be replaced. Overheated transmission. Should get my Jeep back Monday or Tuesday. MOPAR extended warranty covering. $100 deductable.
