Well, when changing out my spark plugs, my socket wrench slipped and my elbow hit this. Snap. Do I have to evacuate the system to replace it?

No sir, you do not have to evacuate the system to remove and replace the A/C High Pressure Switch. The switch screws on to a threaded fitting with a schrader valve inside. You will hear a little bit of refrigerant escape when you unscrew the pressure switch but that's about it.
