No sir, you do not have to evacuate the system to remove and replace the A/C High Pressure Switch. The switch screws on to a threaded fitting with a schrader valve inside. You will hear a little bit of refrigerant escape when you unscrew the pressure switch but that's about it.Well, when changing out my spark plugs, my socket wrench slipped and my elbow hit this. Snap. Do I have to evacuate the system to replace it?
