Uh... my 2018 - 2500 just started acting up. Dealer said bring it in Jan 6th.
I said, do you have the replacement module....? No, he says. Don't know when we'll get them.

Mopar website for my truck says says: Recall Status - Incomplete, but repair parts are not available

Translation: Do NOT drop off your truck unless you do not want it back for months.

Personally I'd wait until they say parts are available and the dealer has confirmed they are by already performing the service on vehicles.

Thank you for this. I have a 2018 Ram dully 3500 with 36,000 mile and it has been doing this for almost 2 years now. I keep getting he runaround about the recall and when they can fix it every time I call the dealership. I haven't been able to use my cruise control for that time either. When I called the other day they said it would be march before they start getting any kits to fix them. This letter helps. I will be contact them as well.

Just got back from a 2000 mile round trip down to Austin, TX and had my recall notification in the mail, finally. Says they don't currently have a remedy and will mail another notice when they do. They also mention reimbursement for having already paid for the repair. I sank $300 down the toilet with my mechanic as he tried to resolve the issue but was unsuccessful, I wonder if they'd cover that?

Wouldn't hurt to submit the receipt for reimbursement.

I have to try to track down my receipt. Paid about $450 for the module and paid my buddy to install it. Paid him $130

I posted this in the brake and wheel forum, but here it is again. Good luck with reimbursements-

I also received the recall notice including the URL above for reimbursement. I had mine fixed in May 2023 under my lifetime MaxCare contract, of course I had to pay the $100 deductible. I submitted my paperwork at the URL above to be reimbursed my deductible cost, and received this email response from [email protected]

"Thank you for reaching out to RAM Customer Care.
We are currently unable to process your reimbursement request for Recall C4B based on the latest guidance from our Corporate Resources. We recommend contacting our Customer Assistance Hotline at 1-800-992-1997 once updates regarding the Recall C4B reimbursement process become available. This will allow us to open a new case and promptly review your request at that time."

So they are telling people to submit the documentation for reimbursement, and they deny it anyway.

@RamCares Why are they sending recall & reimbursement notices out, then denying the request?

You should get a new card in the mail and on the front will have an assigned number for your truck. This is newly released, I just got it the other day. When you get yours, resubmit like they asked.
This is the back of the card.

Yep, I did get that card today. It looks like it's related to the class action settlement, although it does mention the FCA recall reimbursement. I'll try again and see what happens.

The class action lawsuit talk is the back story to basically notify you the money is there and they have to make it right, in simpler words.
Keep us posted how you make out. I've never had an issue on 2 trucks (2018 3500's) so I'll be on the sidelines hoping it works out for yah.

I know most of us are still wondering if FCA will ever replace the modules under a recall. I am on my 3rd unit at 47k miles or they just keep making the stock on last. Now that it is out of warranty 100%, my extended is gone too, it is out again and have been driving again for a year without the features I paid for thanks to this FCA pile of **** wrapped around a Cummins engine.

I miss having cruise control, it is over 2 years I have not had cruise control since the last controller went out.

For the actual reason of posting, The NHTAS has sent another letter for more information to FCA and from what I am reading, it looks like, the NHTSA may be on our side and a recall looks like a possibility finally.

Here is the link to the letter sent to FCA in 2024
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2022/INIM-PE22012-13415.pdf

This was the first sent in 2022
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2022/INOA-PE22012-9925.PDF

And the second in 2023 so you all can see the progress
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/inv/2022/INIM-PE22012-89993P.pdf

Here is to hoping this gets a recall.
man seems like manufacturers cant get it right... got a notice for leaking shock absorbers on my bronco!

Brought the truck in today for a going over. Extended warranty expires soon. Still no idea when the recall parts will arrive they say. Only issue besides that is the oil pan is starting to rust out. Same issue I've had with my last two Ram's. Dam NY salted roads. Only 75k miles. Might keep it if they don't find anything rusting out underneath.

Dont get the people reporting oil pan rusting being my 06 lived on north IA salty roads for 14 years and it had very little rust on the oil pan or any where else when I sold it in 2022

All three of my Rams including this one have had rusted oil pans. I'm in upstate NY. Even the dealer said it's common up here. My only other problems besides this unfixable HCU recall were just petty stuff on all 3.

The northeast seems to have icing and the use of brine is the choice solution. It sticks to the road and your vehicle like ******. That is why we have so much undercarriage rusting and brake line rusting. Iowa probably has more snow with less icing so little to salt is probably the solution. Some parts of the country just doesn't see vehicle rust like we do out here in the northeast.

Going to have to disagree being I have family that works for both state and county Hwy Depts, its how I know that north IA where I lived used lots and lots of salt brine than road salt sand mix.. County roads in my area with school routes saw more brine than the freeways, most winter days you could see the brine lines on clearly on dry looking roadways, on snow covered roads they used a sand & salt mix. What helps keep salt rust at bay was at least twice a week undercarriage car wash except on days it was to cold for them to work....

Then I stand corrected. Sorry . Brine took out the brake lines on four of my trucks. This never happened when I was younger and roads were salted with sand. The liquid brine is bad. It’s only a matter of time till we see what it’s doing to bridges and overpasses.
