I ended up getting lucky and I got a part after two months last fall but there is a company out of canada XeMODeX that claims they can fix these. I did email them about this exact issue and the response was its a common issue they can fix. They basically swap out your HCU with one they refurbished.

I’ll beat a dead horse and add to this. We are on our third module in my 2018 2500. They do have a two year warranty, but the last one they replaced gave up after two and a half years. Figures. Around $1100 each time. I guess I’ve been lucky, the dealership has had the part available with no waiting.

Availability seems to be better lately.

The failures on my 2018 were the motor brushes, like most seem to be. Mind numbing that they haven't fixed this yet.

I bought my 2018 new in 2019 and the ABS/Traction lights started coming on last year. Last year when it started, I contacted FCA and their Response was "Sorry, even though you only have 15,000 miles on your 2500, you're past the 3 year Warranty". Sometimes, the Lights would come on and go off, on and off, etc and then after 5 minutes or so, go off and stay off. Other times they wouldn't come on at all. Yes, I hated the constant dinging but also missed the Cruise when the lights were on. Then, 2 days ago the lights came on and have stayed on. I'd read that it could be a dirty wheel sensor (pull them and clean them off), a Bad sensor (find out which one and replace it OR just replace them all), or a bad module. I checked on line and there don't appear to be any Modules pretty much anywhere. The AB version has been superseded by the AC version and it looks like the Modules run about $250.00-$300.00 but again, they don't seem to be available. There are a few scattered around, such as on EBay, but the ones I could find available were priced around $1,100.00 or so.

Does anybody know if there is a way to disable ABS thru alfaobd and retain cruise control? I just have the fuse pulled right now. I would love to clear up the lights and have the comfort of cruise control. Couldn't care less about having abs or tcs. I still have control over my right foot.

I’m starting to have issues with my 2018 Ram 3500 SRW. Also had an issue with a “droning” noise only on right hand curves at higher speeds (like 70+). I changed the hub assemblies and the droning went away. Strangely, though, the ABS light hasn’t returned after 60-70 miles. Before I couldn’t go 5 miles. Is this false hope that I may have fixed it??

Are you sure about the AC version? I did a search on Mopar for the AC part and nothing comes back. Only the AB part is listed and has superceded the AA part.

This is what it says on my recall Look on the NHTSA website .
Summary
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The hydraulic control unit (HCU) may fail, which can cause the anti-lock brake (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and traction control systems to fail.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the brake HCU, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 9, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is C4B.

"certain" lol

Thanks much for sharing, though. Seems some owners are getting prior to others, I would expect to be included. Which now makes me wonder if they're going to want to do a PCM re-flash - I got a tuner PCM. Sheesh - if they wouldn't have dragged their feet (thanks, FCA) on this for so many years, we wouldn't have these GD legacy issues. Sergio wasn't much better than Tavares.

Problem is with no parts available it'll all just sit in a lot and rot until they make 3 or 4 of them ha! Love the new world customer service these companies have.

Yep - same as the globally-sourced diesel fuel pump debacle with Bosch. One giant corporation, one part, many users.

hmmm. mine went a few years ago. Couldn't find parts for awhile. CC stopped working, no ABS or traction control and constant dinging. Called a bunch of dealerships and found one for about $450. Had my buddy install it and bleed the brakes. I don't have the receipt for the labor but should have the receipt for the module. Also, my truck was originally from Canada so they will probably use that to get out of it. Can't remember the part number version but it was the same version that was already in it.
As far as the @ssh@t mocking our complaints, I started driving in 1985 in a 1972 Cutlass. No traction control and no ABS or CC. I know how to drive a car without those features very well. But when you expect it to be there and it isn't then it creates a bad situation. Also, I use CC 99% of the time on the highways and don't want to listen to constant dinging every 10 seconds or have annoying warning lights on my dash. Call me crazy bu I like when my stuff works the way it's supposed to. We aren't all like you and let broken stuff stay broken.

maybe not related, but my son just told me his 2025 ram 1500 slid thru an icy intersection because the abs failed to engage. he leases it so, i told him to bring it to the dealer.

however, he did mention he drives it in "sports mode" so maybe that has something to do with it?

update: it was because he waas driving in sports mode. I told him not to use that in the winter.

Anyone know what manufacturer of the ABS module is? Bosch is a major maker.
One would think they are on other brands of trucks.
The one on our Chev Kodiak truck went out too.

Who knew we weren't supposed to demand the systems we paid for work?

I ordered and bought a new 1999 Corvette coupe.

Soon after delivery, my wife and I took a weekend driving trip in a rural area. While stopped at a museum, the steering column locked-up and the car could not be driven.

I called Chevrolet roadside assistance and the car was towed to a local (rural) Chevrolet dealer - who's lot was full of trucks and no Corvettes.

The dealer said their tech had not worked on a new C5 Corvette and would call technical assistance to determine how to fix it. That was done, the part was shipped, and the car repaired. My trip was ruined, and we had to stay in a local motel several days awaiting the repairs.

Later - Chevrolet issued a safety recall regarding the Corvette steering column lock failures (very common).

Their safety repair fix was to disconnect the feature, and the car no longer had a locking steering column (an antitheft feature and also a feature that I had paid for when I bought the car new). No compensation was offered to the vehicle owner.
