I ended up getting lucky and I got a part after two months last fall but there is a company out of canada XeMODeX that claims they can fix these. I did email them about this exact issue and the response was its a common issue they can fix. They basically swap out your HCU with one they refurbished.

I’ll beat a dead horse and add to this. We are on our third module in my 2018 2500. They do have a two year warranty, but the last one they replaced gave up after two and a half years. Figures. Around $1100 each time. I guess I’ve been lucky, the dealership has had the part available with no waiting.

Availability seems to be better lately.

The failures on my 2018 were the motor brushes, like most seem to be. Mind numbing that they haven't fixed this yet.
